I honestly was so excited to try this because I do suffer from occasional mild acne. When it hits my face its awful and it takes weeks to get it to clear up only to leave a scars then to happen to me again a month or two later. This illuMask seemed like something I could try and since its sold at Wal-Mart @ http://www.walmart.com/ip/illuMask-Anti-Acne-Light-Therapy-Mask/32664760 I was comfortable that wouldn't hurt my skin like other creams I have used that made my skin dry and worse in some cases (as in more red and inflamed). The illuMask is like something I NEVER tried before it has a Mask portion and a controller that counts down your 30 treatments (After 30 treatments your mask will no longer turn on or work). You just have to cleanse your skin with a mild cleanser (I used Simple, See my review for that from 2013) I would not use a cleanser you use for acne treatments because illuMask instructions do say mild cleanser and acne based cleansers usually contain benzoyl peroxide which by any means is not mild. I pat my face dry and then take out this mask that look a little weird but it does have eye protective glasses that also keep the mask on your face. I sit down click the button on and the Blue Light that kills acne cause bacteria turns on along with the Red Light that reduces inflammation and heals breakouts turns on as well. I sit relax for 15 minutes as it does its thing. After 15 minutes the mask turns off on its own and then I have 29 days left to go according the controller that is counting down my treatments.
After the first treatment I will be honest I ran to the mirror thinking did it do anything?! I had a pimple forming on the side of my nose that day ( I feel them before they even pop up) and I had something going on, on my chin. They were awful and painful on my chin and I knew the one on my nose would not be any better. So every morning I did my mask and after just 5 treatments the one on my nose never gave me any problems NONE it just kind disappeared and I never had to think about it again. My chin was completely CLEARED of any blemishes in 14 DAYS!!

By day 20 I saw something try to break out on my cheek and the next day on day 21 by the end of the night I saw nothing again. Old acne scars started to get really light especially the ones on my chin that are problem area. I did get even one pimple on my forehead which was a miracle in itself. The true test came by day 25 when my time of the month happened. I thought that this was never going to work I always get a pimple or two I look in the mirror and NOTHING no zit not a white head not a black head NOTHING! In fact my skin is SMOOTHER than ever.
