Right when this package arrived I read the instructions to both. You of course need to exfoliate the skin and make sure it is cleansed! After that is taken care of DO NOT moisturizer prior to applying either product! Squeeze a small amount onto the mitt that is provided in the box and start from bottom to top to prevent smudging of any kind! I used the Vita Liberata Luxury Tan Self Tanning Tinted Lotion first because it was perfect for dry skin which I have started to experience since the season change and this lasts about 7 days . I applied one coat and within a flash I had a BEAUTIFUL tan! It was perfect for my skin tone and I haven't self tanned in a while but it gave me a beautiful glow for a few days. If felt really nice going on like a lotion because it left my skin feeling moisturized. The Vita Liberata Self Tan is so great it was completely unscented which was a huge plus for my sensitive skin, didn't streak, wasn't orange at all and look so natural! I love  tan that it provided for me! I had a healthy glow and my legs looked tone and flawless! It had a fine as silk application with a sheer finish that develops a beautifully natural tan over 4-8 hours.
