Right when this package arrived I read the instructions to both. You of course need to exfoliate the skin and make sure it is cleansed! After that is taken care of DO NOT moisturizer prior to applying either product! Squeeze a small amount onto the mitt that is provided in the box and start from bottom to top to prevent smudging of any kind! I used the Vita Liberata Luxury Tan Self Tanning Tinted Lotion first because it was perfect for dry skin which I have started to experience since the season change and this lasts about 7 days .
