Splurge or Save: Drunk Elephant VS Neutrogena

 Happy Saturday Beauty Bag Dolls I am back with a Splurge or save post for you and it is from two of my favorite brands Drunk Elephant versus Neutrogena. The two products are one's that I use all the time and I have reviewed both on my blog and I am a longtime user (I have been using it for four years) of the Splurge product Drunk Elephant T.L.C.  Sukari Babyfacial and I have been using the Save product Neutrogena Skin Glowing Facial Treatment for a year now. Now while the two products are very similar and for me do the the same thing, exfoliate my skin Weekly and both leave my skin feeling soft and deeply cleansed, each have positives and negatives. The Drunk Elephant is powered by Chickpea flour and is 25% AHA and 2% BHA which is relatively high and leaves skin very red compared to the Neutrogena which is 15% AHA/PHA Blend. This one leaves slightly pink for about 30 minutes whereas Drunk Elephant leaves red for over an hour. Drunk Elephant also burns for about 5 minutes of the 20 minutes you have it on for. Neutrogena is about 2 minutes of tingling and you rinse off after 15 minutes. While everyone's experience will be different with skin discomfort while using a facial treatment I am here to let you know if I think you should spend $20 for the Neutrogena at Ulta or spend $80 at Ulta or Sephora for Drunk Elephant. 

My honest opinion on this Splurge or Save battle is to buy the Save first and see how it works out its what I would do if I didn't fall for Drunk Elephant first. The results are the same but the Drunk Elephant version is clean beauty. My solution to this Splurge Versus Save situation is instead of buying the Drunk Elephant 4 times a year or once each season I now buy it twice a year and I buy the Neutrogena twice a year and one week I will use Drunk Elephant Babyfacial and the next week Neutrogena Skin Glowing Facial Treatment. However if my skin care budget ever changed I know the Save product Neutrogena is a drugstore find that works well.

Neutrogena Skin Glowing Weekly Exfoliating Facial Treatment

 Today is February 1st and while my skincare game is going strong, I am awaiting the arrival of...my new foundation that I finally decided on. I am not sure why it is difficult for me to pick a foundation, but I am leaning toward the fact that I have acne prone skin and it freaks me out to break out when I use a new foundation and apply it in the AM and cannot take it off until PM and with skincare, I usually try it out at night and if an issue arises, I can immediately wash it off.  Hi Beauty Bag Dolls I have a quick sneak peek and preorder information of the upcoming QVC TSV for  August 21, 2021 and it is the Josie Maran Mega-Size Argan Reserve Healthy Skin Concentrate. While I love Josie Maran's reserve I am on the fence to purchase since I prefer her Skin Dope more and if that was Super Sized I would buy two! I still have one bottle of this left that I purchased about 2 months ago and I will be opening it in the fall when my skin needs this type of hydration so time will tell if I grab this large bottle of Reserve. Summer Time Hydration

 Beauty Bag Dolls I have a little post for you today just to give you a little heads up on how I keep my skin hydrated for the summer and the different types of ways to hydrate. Read on to learn more and I really how this helps.

There are four main types of topical products that people can use to hydrate their skin: lotions, creams, ointments, and gels.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✔️ Specialty creams for the face differ from those for the body, but all creams are best used at night, when the heavier fats can better sink into the skin.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

✔️ Ointments and gels are less common, but ointments, due to their greasy sheen, are beneficial for adding a protective layer in non-humid environments. When I get ready in the Morning I am not shy about using a face mask while doing my hair and since 4 sheet masks from Midflower were included in The Naked Beauty Box the decision was which one do I try first. After looking at them all and knowing how my skin has been I went for the Midflower Binchotan Charcoal Clarifying Black Mask. This was a great mask that didn't slip off my face once I set it on it stayed on for the 30 minutes. I even did my hair and I had no issues. When I removed the mask my skin looked so clean and my pores were much smaller. I knew this brand would be my newest obsession. I could not wait to get home from work that night to try out the next two products included in The Naked Beauty Beauty Box. The day The Naked Beauty Box June 2020 arrived I knew I was in love because I knew each product included was something I actually could use and did use within two days of its arrival. As I mentioned I was so happy to see this in my mailbox when it arrived and I needed a nice little pick me up spa day so I gravitated toward the Soon Skin Biocellulose Mask and after cleansing my skin I applied this sheet mask and just relaxed for 20 minutes while this went to work with the vitamins A, C and E along with antioxidant rich co-enxymeQ10. Now my next favorite product has become what I use each night after finishing my skincare routine I like to mist the Niu Body Awake Rose Toning Mist. This is my honest review from Sephora.com  This mask is everything to me. As a person with acne prone oily skin I am always using a different mask to help combat or prevent breakouts. I have been using the Lancer Clarifying Detox Mask with Green Tea + 3% Sulfur for just shy under a month and WOW, I am impressed. As directed you can use it 3 times a week as a full face mask or on particular areas that are oily or acne prone. When it arrived my skin was doing well so I used it all over 3 times a week and my skin was doing well. My pores were not congested and looked better than ever. I also noticed a great improvement in the redness in my cheeks. I recently had a bit of a breakout and panicked because it was before a meeting at work were I needed to present. I immediately grabbed the Lancer Detox Mask and spotted it along my jaw line and T-Zone were the breakout was beginning. I did this on a Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday and by Friday when my meeting was happening my pimples were gone. They had appeared to dry up and just disappear. I have never got rid of my pimples in under just 3 or 4 days until now. It helped with the pain, redness and just impressed me! I highly recommend the Lancer Detox Mask with Green Tea + 3% Sulfur and I have sensitive skin and had no issues with burning or stinging.
